Board of Commissioners Votes to Deny Rezoning of the Lavista/Nalley property

DEVELOPERS FILE LAWSUIT AGAINST COMMISSIONERS

This web site is for the citizens of Dekalb County to make our voices heard. Many of us are concerned about the manner in which higher density housing is being introduced into our neighborhoods throughout the county. It often seems as though the developers exert undue influence over the direction of this growth and that our local government leaders are often subject to 'pursuasive' tactics utilized by many developers. On the other hand, the commissioners are also responsive to the needs of communities they represent. Ultimately, we, the citizens of Dekalb County, are in charge and if we make our voices heard, we can prevail.

The aim of this web site is to provide information about specific zoning battles which are occurring in Dekalb County.  We encourage anyone to submit concerns with upcoming zoning issues. They will be posted to this website.

 

What Can You Do?

Stay informed about pending issues in your community and communicate your concerns with neighbors, community groups and other interested groups.

Attend Planning Commission and Board of Commissioner Hearings.

Learn the procedure by which zoning, rezoning and land use changes are implemented.
